Field Notes
Useful context before the next move.
Short, readable guides for crew, skippers, professional captains, owners, brokers, dealers, and yards. These pages explain the current product without promising a match, job, wage, captain, crew member, or safety outcome.
How KeelBridge Works
Use one passage-centered workflow from discovery through completion instead of reconstructing the plan from scattered posts and messages.
- Find a route, crew, skipper, captain, or professional opportunity.
- Connect directly and discuss timing, experience, expectations, and fit.
- Put the important agreed details into the shared Passage Brief before departure.
- Complete the voyage and carry passage-specific history forward with context.
For Captains
Professional captains can use KeelBridge as another channel for delivery and vessel-movement opportunities while keeping the working terms attached to the actual move.
- Review route, timing pressure, vessel readiness, and owner expectations before engaging.
- Keep day-rate or flat-rate shape, travel, weather, crew, and handoff assumptions visible.
- Use the Passage Brief after acceptance so the operational record stays with the job.
- Opportunities may be paid, but KeelBridge does not guarantee work, selection, or wages.
For Brokers, Dealers & Yards
After the sale is already done, hand off the move. Give a client a clear next step when a sold, commissioned, serviced, or yard-released boat still has to get somewhere else without becoming the delivery dispatcher.
- Start a client handoff with the vessel, buyer, route, timing, readiness, and captain need you already know. You do not need to post a passage.
- KeelBridge takes the movement into the existing Movement Order workflow and closes the remaining operational gaps with the requester or owner.
- The Founding Movement Order Desk is $399 per accepted engagement. The owner/buyer normally receives the Desk offer; the brokerage may choose to cover it as a closing service. Captain and crew compensation remains separate.
- If you open the request, its Desk status stays visible to your account. Referral attribution records the source but does not expose a buyer’s private Movement Order record to a separate referrer.
For Buyers & Owners
Turn the vague problem of ‘this boat needs to move’ into a clear route, timing window, professional requirement, and handoff plan.
- Capture the origin, destination, timing pressure, and known vessel-readiness context.
- State whether a professional captain is required and whether the owner expects to be aboard.
- Keep travel, weather-day, crew, and not-ready assumptions visible before work begins.
- KeelBridge coordinates the record; parties pay one another directly and the pilot does not hold wages or escrow.
